Peppermint
Mentha × piperita
Historical / Folk Use
Peppermint has been widely used in European and American herbal traditions as a cooling, aromatic botanical. Traditionally, the leaves were brewed into teas, infused into oils, or used in aromatic compresses and balms. It was valued for its refreshing nature and its ability to awaken the senses as well as supporting digestive and topical comfort. Its bright, menthol-rich character made it a foundational herb for clarity and revitalization.
